Finally, the old maps been updated...

Or click on the 'Mappity map' bit on the side there for a city view. I should really just take out all the New Zealand parts, I only kept clicking the ones I'd been to cos they kept popping op. I should just make it say 'NZ as a whole' or something. Although I've yet to go to the Coromandel. Terrible, I know. There's always Christmas if I make it...somebody with a car? Please take me? Or lend it to me?

Free Lensing?

I dunno, the random act of holding the lens separate from the camera and taking photos? I'll have to try again another day, with some more exciting scenario in front of me. Ahh? almost... focussed?

St. Mawes

Image
Went to St. Mawes down in Cornwall the other week for a few days, with work. Got the train again, I think it might be my new favourite way to travel. I don't know, actually, it's like something I'd like to do in my spare time? Train riding through the country? Maybe I just miss going through actual country side with real fields and stuff, aye London. Even though I do love you quite a bit. Didn't get up to a hell of alot, I mean there's not a heck of alot of people down there. Which is nice. Except! On the first night we were there we went to this really REALLY awesome Circus thing, called Bianco. Linking HERE if you are interested. It was like acrobats and trapeze and tight rope walking and man it was so cooool. Wish I was one of them. It looks SO FUN up there. Alas, maybe one day in the far distant parallel universe future. It was all set up inside this old quarry that is now all trees and pla...

Focus

sweet street excellent use of imagination that there, in the middle, guess who? yes, i did do this.  not mine.  over to the 'glamping' section. tents etc pre-set up before you arrived jus' strollin' round the camp not for snags Last Sunday morning I got the train from Kings Cross to this little place 3 hours away called Skegness, then  got a ride on to Mablethorpe, for four days. It was a church camp called Focus. I went. It was awesome. Now, I didn't actually go to any of the praying/worshipping/jesus/god seminars or talks or groups, as I was looking after the children, but during the 3 hours they were in their school group and I had free time and pretty much just wandered around reading and sitting in the sun and drinking coffees and taking photos. There was a couple of things that would have been quite interesting, but ah, it was a really interesting experience just to get to go to as an outsider. I...

Berlin part 2, finally

Image
an exciting bit of the wall another exciting bit click me me and Sam at the Brandenburg Gate the sky gearing up for a torrential afternoon Reichstag building holocaust monument Last morning in Berlin. All you can eat buffet brekkie again. The way to go. eat as much as you can and then you won't have to stop and buy food tilll dinner time. We got on the bikes again, and headed down to the wall again following Guys lead on a bit more tourist action. Rounding up 6 people on bikes to follow has its drawbacks, well along the wall it did anyway. But we all managed to meet up at the end of it to carry on so that was good. Guy took us to Museum Island, where we stopped for a rest and a look around. We didn't actually go into any of the museums, save that for another time. The buildings around there tho...the way they are all together and big grey square things with great columns out the front and the sky was all grey a...
