St. Mawes

Went to St. Mawes down in Cornwall the other week for a few days, with work. Got the train again, I think it might be my new favourite way to travel. I don't know, actually, it's like something I'd like to do in my spare time? Train riding through the country? Maybe I just miss going through actual country side with real fields and stuff, aye London. Even though I do love you quite a bit.

Didn't get up to a hell of alot, I mean there's not a heck of alot of people down there. Which is nice. Except! On the first night we were there we went to this really REALLY awesome Circus thing, called Bianco. Linking HERE if you are interested. It was like acrobats and trapeze and tight rope walking and man it was so cooool. Wish I was one of them. It looks SO FUN up there. Alas, maybe one day in the far distant parallel universe future. It was all set up inside this old quarry that is now all trees and plants and has these huge domes in the middle, inside one was where the circus thing was.Which is what the crazy bubble looking photos are of up there somewhere.

Other than that, I managed to find the second hand store, got a sweet shirt, went on a wee motorboat across to Falmouth, directly to a place called Pandora for lunch. Oh man, it was so deliciously amazing. I had some amazing fresh fish butter sauce dreamboat of a meal, and there was sides of seaweed n beans and really, who eats seaweed that isn't included in sushi? Apparently everyone. That might sound incredibly naive of me, but I was like whaaat and then yuuuuuum. But only a little bit. And again, tried mussels, and (again with the naivety Alana) my boss taught me this little nipper trick to get them out. Cool.

Then we did some crab fishing, which I found out is the easiest thing ever - put the gross fish in the little bag, let it go to the bottom, pull it back up - buuuuuut I was terrible, somehow, just terrible. I got one. All the children were raking in like 10's and I dunno. Sad to say I pretty much gave up and me and Orlando just played with the rocks and stuff hahaha.

We also went over on the ferry to Falmouth on the last day, and on the way back to London (a 4 hour ish drive, speedsters) stopped by a country fair, which was hilaaaaaarrious. Sheep races, with stuffed knitted dolls on their backs. Hay Bail throwing. Roll the swedes. Sheep poo everywhere. It was like being home, minus the lolly scramble.

So yeah. Not up to too much these next few weeks, got big work weeks and soooo will be being a total grandma.
