alana goes away

the JM of Spain how I managed to get no people in this picture amazes me... sweet roof geezers Wow. So my last 4 days in Spain...here's up until I left in the car. That will come later. Simon and co make it to the apartment, well after the Grudge 2 has ended, and without toooo much hassle. After a slowish kinda start we catch the metro to the Sagrada Familia, get all awed and ooh and aahd, then go to line up to go inside...the line is at least 400 strong and around a corner, well around the corner infact. We decide to go get lunch before tackling the beast, but then after lunch the line is possibly longer, goes right round into the shade - it's been fantastically sunny and hot the whole time I've been here -  so we decide to come back the next morning at opening time, 9am, and today we will go to  Parc Güell and sit in the sun and perhaps have some beers. The view from the park is excellent, you can see right dow...

a few stretches I should have done. instead I laughed and took a photo. Skype everyone who was online, goodtimes. Then pack a handy picnic bag full of goodies. Get on the Metro, realise I'm on the wrong side juuuust as the train comes, then go to the other side and wait for the next one. Beeaaauuuuutiful day. Bus up  Montjuïc, and visit the castle at the top. Walk around the park area and find a sweet grassy spot, tree to lean on, and get out my feast and book and sit for 3-ish hours. Listen to an old man singing songs at his park bench. Walk down the hill to  Montjuïc Cemetary and feel like a creep looking at (crazy but good looking) graves on Christmas day. Bus back up the hill. Walk down the other side into town.  So it was a pretty lax day really. Stuffed myself silly as per any normal Christmas day. Some  old Roman tombs  Sweet roof! Tryna get me in there... Aside from all this Christmas business, I'm in on holiday finally! Not really finally, as this year I've had more holidays than probably the rest of my adult life put together, but it's gooood anyhow. The day after I finished work I took my excellent pressie from Alisha over to E&C for a bit of a spin. I realised I'd never actually played Scrabble before...I'm definitely going to need more practice, but it was FUN! And hilarious. Then the next night I caught up with some Aussie ladies on a Eurotrip and went out for a yum dins, and thennnnnnnn the next day! Off! To! Funtown! Barcelona! Hurrah! I made sure I was super early after mine and Sam's disastrous attempt 1 at getting to France, but then I had 2 hours to kill at the airport...enough time for some last minute googling of places and addresses and words I'll probably...
