And then there are about 3 or 4 films worth of photos between this day and the last, which is why the photo log skips 4 days...

Spain! Wow, ok. Flew into Tarragona. If you remember I came to Tarragona one other time, >AT CHRISTMAS<, when I was driving down the coast on my Christmas holidays.

Well this time we managed to find the amphitheatre, which juts so happened to be about 4 minutes from where we were staying for the night. Handy. Checked out a few more of the old Roman buildings and walls and decided to stop for a niceee iced coffee. You do iced coffee? Yeah? Cool, two of them thanks. And what we got was an espresso, with an ice cube in a glass beside it. I seem to remember that happening another time too, boy was it funny. Then we went and parked ourselves on the beach.

On to Barcelona!  Check into our hostel. Find some delicious food in George Orwell Square. Try some local beer 'Moritz'. Walk around for about 4 hours going ooh aah man how cool is this city. I get to feel important due to my small knowledge bank from last time, and point things out and 'know' where I'm going. Back to the Hostel. Matt and Lucy arrive. Food and beer time. MASSIVE beer time.

A late start later (we were put on the 'lazy people' list, the list for those who weren't checked out at 11) woops, we roundaboutsly head toward our new place for the week, which is a littlelittle flat we rented close to the beach. It was kinda interesting, knowing very very limited Spanish, trying to converse with Russian accented Spanish. The lady handing over the keys that is. Thank goodness for Lucy. Ah, no I've not been to Moscow to see the Kremlin, but I sure would like to. She laughs, goes into the bathroom and deodorises herself, gets her trundler trolley and off she goes. Ok then...Cute lil place! Swimming, at a mighty packed beach, but oh so good to get in the water. Waves galore, and also a whole bunch of the most attractive looking people I've ever seen. Damn you Europe. We get in a bit of sightseeing, and unlike Christmas time, there was no line for Sagrada Famillia. Did I go in this time? No. Went around the outside tho. One day S.G, one day.

Then follows 3 days and nights of Sonar festival. Great music, tired livers, even more tired bank accounts, blown minds, sore knees (too much bobbing) walking home at 5/6/7am in 25 degree heat, SO MUCH GOOD MUSIC, a teeeny bit of slap-myself-in-the-forehead Alana specials, and of course beach beach beach, food food food. I'm sure it seems like I'm skirting a whole bunch of awesomeness, and I am, but all it would really be is 'and then this was awesome and then thisss was awesome and then thiiiis was awesome, and then we watched someone throw up inside under a chair and then had an american hotdog at 4am, then we watched another awesome set and then and then and then this was sooo good and this was awesome, and that I don't really remember at all and then we met up at the red dot blah blah' and also because I've left it a bit late so memories are fading. It was such an amazing 3 days tho. Well, days and nights, the night venue was MASSIVE. We walked in the first night for Amon Tobin, and I don't think I've seen a bigger room before. It was like the Edgar centre x5. The word 'vast' comes to mind alot. By Saturday we had vegetable home cooked cravings, and Sam and Lucy went and got some delicious stir fry ingredients to get our bodies a bit more energised and less rinsed feeling. Which we also ate at 7am the next morning when we got home, thanks to Matt. I'm still amazed at how much other people can accomplish while I'm like a half deflated helium balloon stuck to the roof of a car in the sun with the windows up. All day. Granny.

Sunday was a bit of a write off, after all the festivities. We slept till about 2, which is hard to believe as all the people shouting outside, and the fact it was about 34 degrees, but somehow we did. Then up to Monjuic mountain, which again, if you remembs, was where I spent my Christmas day. Beaauuuutiful sunset. Sam and Matt powered up the hill to get some pics at the top, but me being the D.H.B. that I was caught up about 15 minutes later. Crazy good views tho, then time to go down. Wait a minute where's Sam? Running around the castle? Where on earth he gets the stamina from I just don't know. We went off (not by bus as it was 9.47 and the last bus was 9.22 back down, if anyone plans on being up the hill around that time) in search of some food and to meet up with some friends, who by complete random coincidence were in Barcelona at the same time. What are the odds? From Aussie too, not England. Turns out Annie and Josh are alllllso in Berlin in two weeks when we are. WHAT!?! Could the world get any smaller. Sheesh! So we all went out for dinner together, and yes I did eat a whole chicken. We went to this little Indian place, and there was so much food on the table I wanted to cry, it all looked so good. And was all so good, although next time a whole chicken turns up on my plate, no matter how tasty the
tandoori is, I'm going to show some restraint and perhaps save some.

Well, that's about all for now. I know it reads like a rush, but that's because I may have rushed writing it. We are in Lisbon now, or Liz-booooaaaa hahaha. Ok, no. We are about to go sea the top 3, it's so hot I could fall over, there's rubbish everywhere, but we're doin it. So again, till next time peeps. XXXXXXXXXXX
