SAD! We're driving to Faro the day before we fly back to London, and manage to stop at the most amazing beach. In Portimão, 'Praia da Rocha' or Rock Beach, so picturesque. Mental. I manage to lose my bikini bottoms while walking along the beach, and no I wasn't wearing them at the time. The water is so nice, I didn't wanna get out. Alas. Time to walk from one end to the other. Novelty wore off for me after a mile. But we get to the end, there's a big cave with a hole in the top above, and Sam is making friends in the water, and a big old wave come in, heading straight for Mashs bag, with my camera sitting on top, and everyones important stuff sitting inside...me and Mash dash for it, but Mash gets there first juuuust as the wave gets it, and most hilarious looking slide to the ground, and he's throwing everything backwards and I'm watching my (expeeeensive) camera fly through the air and land in the sand, just infront of a huge rocky rock, and there's watches and stuff going everywhere. It was so funny. I'd rather a bit of sand on my things, than them drowning. Thanks Mash, I wish I'd caught it on camera.
Onwards! Through electronic tolls that hopefully the rental company sorts out, and just bills my card for, rather than me get screwed for not paying. You're supposed to go into the post shop after two days and pay it, but as we were leaving the next day I was kiiinda unsure what to do. So I left it. Hmm. Anywho, Faro. A bit smaller and quieter than the map suggested, but it was nice. Went out to the beach, and found the locals part, as a friendly old dude let us know when we stopped off for a beer. So good. We may have overstayed a tad, cos then the owners of the little cafe we were in started pulling tables together, setting up a big family meal, and I'm thinking awwwwwkwaaard, when they chuck a plate of some local dish infront of us. Seafood caught around here. Pretty tasty. I forget what he called it.
We had Indian for dinner, as it was across from our hostel. It was really good Indian. Shoulda had some traditional dish from Portugal, but ah.
Super duper holiday, so much sun and good times. So yeah. That's all.
