Mum came over for her big holiday a few weeks ago :) I'd been looking forward to it since she booked in January!!!! It was so good to see you ma! I miss miss missssss you now tho, sadface.  I got up at the early old time of 5am to drive out to Heathrow to pick her up, and in the quickest time anyone has ever got through border security/baggage claim/customs, she was out! Fast forward from that day (Monday) to Thursday, and we were up again at the crack of dawn to get the Euro Star to Paris. And what a way to go, so easy, and I really like travelling by train. I did nap BUT it was so much easier than fluffing around with the airports. Guy had figured it all out, so we could get our bikes down there (Guy, Max and Soph on the train with 5 bikes) as me and Sam were packing the smart car with all the gear and driving down. Sam had a lovely Alana concert of all the current pop hits on all the radio stations for a solid two hours, car singing is a well up there fav passtime. Anywho, when we got there we all met up in a very Coro st cafe across from the station, and hooned massive MASSIVE burgers before Sophie and I went to discover that Polegate has awesome op shops. break time! Over Easter weekend this year, me, Sam, Guy, George and Rory hired a car to drive down to West Bay, Dorset, to stay in a caravan and see a bit more of the UK. Yep. We went there again. With the car hiring I mean. This time we had back up plans, yarns, people on call, the works. We were going for a flawless victory this time. Guy and I went out on the tube (its like 60 quid cheaper from the airport) and walked in like yes this is our day. We went up, and the guy asked me if I had my paper license. Why would I have that on me man. He was deadset like sorry you can't have the car. Keeping our cool and giving a thousand alternatives to his no, and maybe even a wee bit of an 'I'm actually not leaving without the car' moment he went out back and I was thinking all hope was lost. But no! Success! He came back and sent us off to row 3&4 to pick a car and huzzzzah we got a car with only 12kms on the clock. ...

        Okey dokey, Pompeii! We planned to get up all early for this one, as it's one of them top to do things on my travelling list. I don't even really know why. Old stuff, gets me every time. We got the super cheap train the few stops to half way between Vico Equense and Naples, to the Pompeii stop, grabbed some random food and drinks from the stalls and in we go. I thought I was going to get in for cheap or free or something cos I was 25, and on a Euro passport, but turns out you have to be under 25. No biggie. It was a really nice warm day again, lucky us. And into the ruinssssssssssssssssyusssssssssss. Sometimes I get this super excited anxious feeling in my chest when I finally get to do something I'd wanted for ages, and boy oh boy was it on today.
