New Yorkison

Hey beautiful gal!

Ok so I haven't even been here for 24 hours yet...but someone, buy me weekly tickets to come here yeah??? And again, I've only walked a few blocks, through central park, downtown to some BBQ place for tea with Greer and two of her lovely friends, and back.

So we woke up at 3.40 AM! Yeah, that's AM! Early times, After a speedy wakeup/breakfast/dressthekiddies/breakfastinazipockbag/inthecar we were heading for Denver International Airport at 4.30AM. And surprisingly on time too. Leaving just in time, the snow has just about left the land of Denver, although they are expecting more on Tuesday.  Jealous. Anyway. The flights went very well, I even managed to catch a nap from Denver-Chicago. When we start our decent to Laguardia Airport in New York, I get all excited, ooo where's the statue of liberty etc. Oh there it is! I think...is it? I thought it was gonna be bigger...I guess I am in an airplane...but cool! Then we are flying over Manhattan and the city looks like Lego and there's that scene from this movie and that movie and that other movie, and we haven't even landed. Wicked.

Two hours later my darling friend Greer is meeting me on the corner of where I am staying...which is in the upper east side of New York, and not too far from Greer at all. Yuss! We take a stroll through Central Park, famous sights and all, and down a few streets to a tea shop called Alices teapot or something, and there's a 20 minute wait. For a cup of tea. Wow. So we head to another place and get a 'white hot chocolate' and a brownie. The white hot chocolate was I'm pretty sure just  cup of melted milky ways. Yum diggity. I'm laughing at how funny it is, I haven't seen Her in over a year, and all of a sudden we are walking down west 72nd street, NEW YORK, together, talking shit. Love it. LOVE. IT. All pieces of the world wide puzzle can click together and make a pretty picture, anytime. Smear all the cheesey cheese you want over that sentence, I'm fine with it. I wish there was somesort of funny reunion that everyone could/should/had to attend. Ugh.

Subway time! It's like going through a prison check, and when we get down to the trains I cant help but pull out my phone and think, 'I should take a photo/video so Guy can see what the trains look like' then I shake my head and put my phone away haha, geez. We take a few stops to go have dinner with Greers friends, at a place called Dallas BBQ. I asked Gre to fond me some hilarious New York foods, and here we are. Baby ribs, cornbread and fries. AAAAAAAND a Texas sized Blue Hawiian thanks. After a hilarious story filled eat/drink fest, we catch a cab over to a bar nearish where I'm staying, and start our first ever game of beer pong. That's right, American teenager movie beer pong. Defo havng a game or 7 of that at the coming birthday celebrations. Not to toot my own horn but I FRIGGIN RULE AT IT! Yeah, I said it. I really was pretty good, for a first trier. Greer's friend asked me the hilarious question of, 'Hey Alana, does your back hurt? You know, from carrying the team?' I laughed at that, as those of you who know Greer know she is VERY competitive, and this game was just killing her. She did finish rather nicely with getting the last shot. Anywho, I have work at 7.30 in the morning, so I did have to bail early, but! There's a bit of time! My boss wanted to meet Greer, and to possibly set up some contacts in the Broadway business, so again, this trip is just phenomenal so far for me, hopefully it turns out to benefit old Gre too. I think I love my job. Not braggin, honest, but the Rockies? Snow? Mountains? Cute children? New york? Best Friends? Lovely bosses? Best job ever. Now if only there were a way to get Sam on these trips...
