So back in September Sam and I went to Greece for a sailing holiday. We'd not been out of the UK for a holiday for ages...or the whole year I think, so it was extra exciting. We flew in to Corfu to meet up with a friend who was working there, the same one we'd been to Venice to meet up with last year. Sam also had a friend moving over from NZ who was meeting us there also, and he was to come on the sailing trip too. FUN FUN.
It rained half the day that we first got there, but meh, the next day was nice. We got to go swimming and eat and drink and it was amazing. Got ourselves to a toga party (as the friend we were staying with works for contiki so we thought why not hahaha) which was, indeed, as messy as expected.
We then flew to Athens with Brendan to get on eh boat and go sailing for the week. Boy. Hot. Fun. Swimming. Eating. Drinking. A backflip or 10. Annoying the shit out of everyone haha. I'll just add this link to
>Medsailors< rather than try explain where we went. It was sooo awesome. At first we thought we would try gather enough people for the whole boat, but in the end it was just the three of us with randoms. Which turned out well, as our boat was filled with some pretty cool people who weren't *hopefully* too horrified by the Alana-on-holiday that was. The skippers feed you breakfast and lunch, and then you stop at a new port every evening for the night and head out for dinner where ever. Between all the lazing and reading and being horribly sunburnt woops, it was easily one of the best trips we've done. Which is funny as my other favourite is Iceland, so completely different. Anyway, I LOVE GREECE and I love gyros which is like a wee pita filled with goodness and so cheap I could eat it all day every day. Alas.
Anyway, as it was a while ago, I wont try rememeber everything and write a novel as always, but get to some pictures, which are all from my iphone as the films I took are back in London and I am currently in NZ.
We would definitely be doing another sailing trip next year I reckon. Maybe Turkey. Or Croatia. If anyone out there has any recommendations of other sailing places/companies I'm all ears/eyes.
