And back to Chiang Mai

Great spell checking Alana, nice. So after breakfast we almost miss the bus back to Chiang Mai cos it's trying to leave 10 mins early, unfair. But we do make it. A longish bus ride back over the 756 turns or whatever. Theres only one thing we wanna get done today, and it's a big temple thingi up on the hill, with lots of steps and lots of gold, Doi Suthep. We're looking round the market, and a lady comes up with some paintings 'she' did. Mash gets her down from 600B for one to 500B for 2. You'd think that was a bargain, until another lady with the same set comes over and tries to sell him more...2 for 200B...she then follows us saying 'hey lady, hey mister' and we're trying to tell her he has the paintings he wanted and we don't want anymore, but geez louise she doesnt give up. In the end I just pretended she wasn't there. Meh.

No short shkirts in the temple, so Claire gets to borrow an awesome sarong thing, which she wants to keep but doesn't. The markets at the bottom of the steps and we are just browsing and 7 little ladies each from a different store are calling to us, 'hey lady hey mister, I have bells'. Bells. 'I have big bell, small bell, lots of bell, you buy teeny bell. Big bell? Bell?' Big on bells there. Back to town with our taxi man that had waited for us. Lanes just mean nothing to these people. We sit at the bar/resturant of the BMP, which is alot better this time, we have a different room, and you could definitely swing a cat in this one. A dog even. And the aircon works without spitting water on us/soaking Claires bed.

Chang after Chang and then to the night bazzaar. Bartering seems alot easier when your drunk. But it's kind of annoying cos I didn't want half the stuff I was talking about with the people, and only bought a t-shirt and togs, but still, they're so good at drawing you in to make you want shit. Mash got a mean fountain pen he's very stoaked with getting the people down from 540B to 300B. Claire gets a dress, for 120B down from 250B. AAAAnd she has some presents for some lucky people. Sorry but you guys will get nothing from me. I can't figure out the postage system. I haven't even seen a post shop. My presents to you is this far too in depth mish mash of a blog.

In the morning we are off to Chiang Rai then the other place by the border, Chiang Khong. We are currently in the minivan on our way. Mash wants to 'jot his thoughts down'. But later as he is very hung over and wants to get back to sleep. He found a buddy last night who was also a guy travelling with 2 girls, and they both look terrible today. Chang you wicked thing you. I've also decided I do like iced coffee. It's too balmy for real coffee.Ok then, that be that for now. XXX
